Day 21
August 25, 2009
I managed to wake up late again and not be able to fiddle with camera settings so this is a bit of a blurry effort. This dress was a calf-length, batwing monster of a frock when I bought it. I liked the collar and pockets so I decided that for all of the 20 pence it cost, I could try a little hacking. Sleeves off, hem up, waist in and it’s wearable once more.

It’s actually a lovely emerald green, I’ll maybe try again with the photo later.

Day 16
August 20, 2009
Ahoy! Despite getting up early, I still managed to run late hence the damp hair. Part sailor, part washed-up mermaid. I am aware that the salute is probably more Boy Scout than Sailor but who has time to learn these things?
I bought this dress on Ebay about 5 years ago and have worn it once since. I wish I could remember the name of the seller as she had some lovely clothes, all customised and screen-printed.

I love anchors and indeed anything nautical. It’s an obsession I have to rein in for fear of amassing another collection, but this one was just too good to pass up on.
